ASIP Grant · Alberta 2026

Up to $65,000 in security funding for Alberta organizations

The Alberta Security Infrastructure Program (ASIP) helps nonprofits, faith communities and schools fund security upgrades. As a local installer, Loch Security can assess your site and provide the quotes your application needs.

What it covers

Funding for organizations at risk

ASIP provides grant funding to organizations serving communities at risk of hate- or bias-motivated incidents. Funding is split across categories, each with its own maximum:

  • Security risk assessment — up to $10,000
  • Security planning, infrastructure & equipment — up to $25,000
  • Education & training — up to $10,000
  • Immediate security response (reimbursement only) — up to $10,000

Eligible upgrades include alarm systems, cameras, access control, lighting and other physical-security measures — exactly the commercial security work we do. Applications are processed in the order received and funding stays open until the program budget is spent.

How Loch helps
  • Free on-site security assessment

Who qualifies

Eligible organizations

To apply you must be a registered not-for-profit or charity in good standing, or one of:

  • Places of worship
  • Recognized private schools serving diverse student bodies
  • Community centres for an identifiable group
  • Cemeteries, shelters and ceremonial facilities serving an identifiable group

Not eligible: residential dwellings, individuals, for-profit businesses, daycares, municipalities, police services, crown corporations and publicly funded institutions.

Two ways to apply

There are two streams: a cost-recovery grant reimbursing eligible expenses incurred since June 1, 2021, and a regular grant for new assessments, equipment and training — which requires itemized quotes with your application.

That’s exactly where we come in: a free on-site assessment and an application-ready, itemized quote for the security work. The ASIP team confirms receipt of your application within 5 business days.

Schools expansion: Islamic & Jewish faith-based alternative schools and Arabic bilingual programs can apply until December 31, 2026.

Timing

Is the ASIP grant still open?

Yes. Applications are processed in the order they are received and funding stays open until the program budget is spent — so applying early matters. The temporary expansion covering Islamic and Jewish faith-based alternative schools and Arabic bilingual programs accepts applications until December 31, 2026.

We provide application-ready quotes across the Edmonton region, including Edmonton, Leduc, St. Albert, Sherwood Park and Red Deer. Call 780-604-4495.

Loch Security is a security installer, not a grant administrator. Program details, eligibility and funding amounts are set by the Government of Alberta and may change — we’ll help with the security side and the quotes you need to apply.
